In recent years, M-Commerce is increasing at a rapid pace because mobile become integral part of individual life and many tasks today are performed through the mentioned device. In the present report, E-commerce services that are provided through mobile are discussed. Role of M-commerce in retailing and its fragmented market is discussed. Further, reasons due to which heavy spending is done on M-Commerce are discussed and issues in managing mobile technology are discussed. At end of the report, conclusion section is prepared and comments are made on future of M-Commerce.
Question1. What E-Commerce services are provided by the m- commerce?
M-Commerce provides multiple services like earlier only through website internet banking was possible to do, but now through apps that are on mobile online banking is done by the people. 20% to 30% individuals across Europe are using mobile apps to make or receive payments (M-Commerce., 2020). Earlier firms like Amazon and Flipkart were having websites from where individuals can purchase products. Today, also they operate their business through websites, but now from mobile app also people can place order for the product (Parker and Wang,. 2016). However, cross device behavior is seen among people and customers view brief info on mobile and detail info on the desktop and make purchases on the tablet. With the passage of time apps will be improved and provide more convenience for customers mobile will be used more to make online to purchase than tablets. Earlier, people online place order for video games and CD’s to watch movies. Now, by making payment through mobile, individual immediately get access to video games and movies or other entertainment videos. Through mobile online gambling is done by people on games like cricket and football etc. Hence, it can be said that E-Commerce services on a large scale are now provided by M-Commerce.
From the above discussion, it can be concluded that M-Commerce is increasing at a rapid pace and this creates opportunities for the firms. If website is taking more time to load, navigation is not easy and website is not suitable for mobile one will move to rival. Thus, in order to explore this opportunity firms need to make heavy expenditure on technology development and up gradation. The customers’ decision making process also got changed and due to this reason firms need to identify weak points of their products and innovate them on time so that demand can be elevate or maintained.
